Horrible Awful Christmas Song of the Day (for Julia...)

Um...ok. Wilson Phillips has a new Christmas album out. 15-20 years ago this would have been very exciting to me. The horrible (I think) "original" tune on the album, "Warm Lovin' Christmastime" was not on you tube. But how about a live performance of a Christmas classic...

I appreciate the idea: Ladies. 3-part harmony. Holiday cheer. And its fine. Almost all of the notes are there. But it is labored. And lame. And Robin Roberts is scarily singing along. And it feels like it could fall apart at any second. And Chynna needs the key to be lowered. And Carnie is standing like she's about to drop a load on the stage. And Carnie... lets NOT scat.

Remember Carnie's talk show?

  2. HA HA HA! wow, WP. Why is Carnie's stance so wide? Is it the heels messing with her center of balance? I know I have wide thighs but I stand with my feet respectably close together in general. Now I am going to think about that when performing. And that was really not scatting. Shatting? yes. :)

  3. While this isn't the worst of what I have heard of the WP Christmas album, it was still too awful to finish listening too. The scatting is tragic. Oh Carnie, you have failed curvy girls everywhere with your unfortunate wardrobe selection and your weird stance.

  4. I was being nice to Carnie. the wardrobe.... the BOXIEST crappy floral dress EVER... PLUS a random shawl. weird. I get being large and performing and support and all of that... close your legs... or wear a smart pantsuit.

    And shatting... ha.

  5. I used to like Wilson Phillips...a whole lot. I'm not ashamed to admit it. But I always hated "Hey Santa." And now I hate this. This is horrible. Horrible for all the reasons mentioned above--outfit choice, tuning, and "let's scat." Really? Really?
